Khambo Lama Javzandorj noted that India and Mongolia are spiritual neighours and indicated that Gandan was working very closely with the Indian Embassy in Ulaanbaatar and expressed the confidence that collaboration between Gandan and the Indian Embassy and through which with the Indian Government will grow and develop. The Khambo lama also thanked the Indian government for all support being given to Gandan and the Buddhists of Mongolia.
The Khambo lama noted that he had spent many years in India learning Buddhist pilosophy and considers India as his second home, where today more than 400 young Mongolian lamas are studying.
Mr. Bhupender Yadav noted that the Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi attached particular significance to the ties and collaboration between India and Mongolia, and in this connection noted that the holy relics of Buddha and later the relics of Buddha’s two chief disciples were brought to Mongolia for the Mongolian Buddhists and believers to pay homage. He said that collectively our two countries need to work closely together to bring about positive changes in the society.
Ambassador Mr. Atul Malhari Gotsurve spoke about the Indian government assisted projects of a library and museum at Gandan, and also said that a Mongolian student was going to India to study Sanskrit. The Ambassador thanked the Gandan Khambo Lama and the ABCP President for the warm welcome accorded them.
