The Dharma Alliance has been formally cited in a recent report of the UN Secretary-General, submitted to the General Assembly for its currently ongoing 81st session (A/81/299, 3 August 2026). The report mentions the Bangkok Declaration on Dharmic Perspectives on Faith for Rights. Co-authored by the UN-OHCHR, BGVI and the Dharma Alliance, it is the first instrument of its kind to articulate Dharmic perspectives on faith and human rights in a formal UN context. It is described in the report as recognising the diversity of spiritual, ethical and cultural traditions as a source of insight for promoting dignity, justice and compassion.
