Most Ven. Da Lama Kh. Byambajav, Secretary General ABCP, on behalf of the President of ABCP, Most Ven. Gabju D. Choijamts and on behalf of the ABCP National Centers on 25 May, 2025 sent a message of congratulations the Most Ve. Pandito Khambo Lama Damba Ayusheev, Head of the Traditional Buddhist Sangha of Russia in connection with the award Pandito Damba Ayusheev received from the President of the Russian Federation – “The Certificate of Honor of the Russian Federation.”

ABCP joined in the celebration of this remarkable event in connection with the awarding of the Certificate of Honor, which notes “the noteworthy service in defense of the Fatherland and ensuring the security of the state, for strengthening the rule of law, health and life, for protection of the rights and freedoms of citizens, for contributions in public construction, in the economy, science, culture, the arts, education, sports, charities and other services to the state.

The message further notes “ABCP is proud that You, Most Ven. Pandito Khambo Lama Damba Ayusheev, as one of the founding members of our organization, has been recognized with such a high state award by the Russian President, which is a recognition of your services to furthering the mission of the Asian Buddhists Conference for Peace to strengthening universal peace, unity, justice and human dignity, and protecting the environment and the nature.”

The ABCP Secretary General, on behalf of the President, 20 National Centers of ABCP in 14 countries and on his personal behalf congratulated Most Ven. Pandito Khambo Lama Dama Ayusheev on this award and wished him long and a healthy life, and more success in his noble actions to promote the peace-loving and compassionate teachings of Lord Buddha for the sake of all sentient beings.

Damba Badmaevich Ayusheev (born 1 September 1962) is a Russian Vajrayana Buddhist monk. On 28 April 1995, Ayusheev was elected to the position of 24th Khambo Lama and Chairman of the Central Spiritual Administration of Buddhists of the Russian Federation (later renamed as the Buddhist Traditional Sangha of Russia). As such, he presides over all Buddhists in Russia. He was re-elected in 2023 to continue in the role until 2028. He is also the Vice President of the Asian Buddhists Conference for Peace.
