ABCP Secretary General

The Secretary General of the Asian Buddhists Conference for Peace is Most Venerable Da Lama BYAMBAJAV Khunkhur. He was elected the ABCP Secretary General at the 12th General Assembly of ABCP held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia in 2019.

Education:
  • 1988-1994, University of Mongolian Buddhism (currently Zanabazar Buddhist University), Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia
  • 1994-1997, Drepung Gomang Dratsang in Mundgod, Karnataka, India
Work experience:
  • 1997-1999, Teacher at University of Mongolian Buddhism (currently Zanabazar Buddhist University)
  • 1999-2008, Deputy Director at University of Mongolian Buddhism (currently Zanabazar Buddhist University)
  • 2008-2019, Director of University of Mongolian Buddhism (currently Zanabazar Buddhist University)
  • Da Lama of the Gandan Tegchenling Monastery the Centre of Mongolian Buddhists
  • Member of Administrative Board of Gandan Tegchenling Monastery the Center of Mongolian Buddhists
  • In 2019 he was elected the Secretary General of the Asian Buddhists Conference for Peace
    According to Article 11.1 of the Charter of ABCP, the mandate of the Secretary General is to lead and manage the day-to-day work of the ABCP Headquarters, regulate and coordinate the activities of the different member National Centers of ABCP, and oversee the implementation of the ABCP decisions and recommendations
